Together
Traditionally, the ritual of eating is centred around a group of people gathering at a table
to share a meal together. However, with society evolving and the rise of technology, that original
ritual is becoming rare. Interruptions of careers, distance now Covid and media, all influence the outcome of
that group gathering. Some of those influences can cause a person to eat alone, avoid
conversation with those around them or even change their table etiquette. Four videos were
created, each highlighting a single subject’s individual process of their ritual of eating. By
playing the videos side by side, an illusion is created.
